Dr. Maria Marshall is a highly accomplished Clinical Psychologist with a focus on pediatric psychology. With more than 19 years of experience, she brings a wealth of expertise to her new role at 360 Pediatric Psychology in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Dr. Marshall holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University and has been licensed as a Psychologist in Oregon, New Mexico, and Colorado.
Throughout her career, Dr. Marshall has excelled in various professional settings. As a Staff Psychologist at the Lewis and Clark Student Counseling Center, she provided individual psychotherapy to undergraduate and graduate students, addressing a wide range of diagnostic issues. Her therapeutic approaches included psychodynamic, cognitive, emotion-focused, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
Dr. Marshall’s experience extends to crisis evaluation and treatment, where she played a vital role in assessing and stabilizing students in acute distress. Additionally, she engaged in consultation with campus departments and collaborated with primary care physicians, therapists, and parents to ensure comprehensive care.
In her previous role as a Clinical Supervisor at the San Luis Valley Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center, Dr. Marshall provided supervision to licensed and unlicensed clinicians. She oversaw clinical documentation, treatment planning, and the delivery of psychotherapy services. Her responsibilities also included community collaboration and outreach, where she served as a liaison between the mental health agency and community resources.
With a strong background in private practice, Dr. Marshall conducted outpatient therapy with children, adolescents, and adults at The San Juan House Counseling Center. She addressed a variety of mental health issues, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, and adjustment problems.
Dr. Marshall’s extensive professional experience also includes working as an Inpatient Child Therapist at Anna Kaseman Hospital, where she facilitated group and family therapy sessions and conducted psychological assessments for children ages 4 – 12, to inform treatment planning. She has consistently demonstrated a dedication to providing high-quality care and fostering positive outcomes for her clients.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Marshall has made significant contributions to the field through research and publications. Her doctoral dissertation, titled “When Loss Brings Gain: The Influence of Person and Event Characteristics on Posttraumatic Growth in the Bereaved,” explores the process of posttraumatic growth following loss. She has also presented at various conferences and delivered community seminars on topics related to mental health.
